Moksha, the Forest Hero.
Moksha was a sweet child, born through the belly of Mother Earth. When Moksha arrived, the animal queendom of neighboring bunny pods, deer, and mountain lion came to gently clean the soil and moss off Moksha. The great gray owl kept watch.
Over the next several years, baby Moksha grew into a bigger Moksha. Each day different bird sisters and brothers took turns guiding Mother Earth’s child. Here are some of the things Moksha learned from everyone…
The next day, near the ancient oak tree, the birds chirped as they danced from branch to branch, gathering around. Moksha hummed back.
The eldest of the birds landed on Moksha’s shoulder to deliver a message.
“A big storm cloud was headed this way but changed directions this morning. Mother Earth needs the bounty of that storm, to water the fields, and keep the rivers flowing. Can you help us come up with an idea?”
Moksha listened carefully then said, “I know what I can do! Soji and I can ask Sister Forest Dragon if she will take me to the storm cloud because she can fly faster than Cousin Cloud.”
The eldest chirped up, “Great idea, but what will you do if you can find her?”
“We’ll ask her if she can u-turn!”
